The story follows a doctor (played by Gere) who is treating three paranoid schizophrenic patients at the Ypsilanti State Hospital in Michigan, each of whom believe they are Jesus Christ. While it is a well-worn tale, the show manages to put its own mark on history by contextualising how out of step Catherine is as both wife and leader. As a partner to Henry VIII, she is devoted and keenly aware of his frailties.
